I aim to be fair and transparent while protecting the time and costs involved in running the studio. The terms below set out how payment, booking and cancellations work across different types of sessions.

1. Open-ended individual sessions

(applies to studio portraits, pet portraits, one to one mentoring and private tuition that are paid for upfront, with the date arranged afterwards)

Payment and booking

  • Sessions are paid for in full at checkout.

  • Payment gives you the right to book a session at a mutually convenient date.

  • No date is confirmed at the point of purchase. We arrange the appointment afterwards by email.

Cancellation and refunds before a date is agreed

  • If you change your mind before we have agreed a date, you can request one of the following:

    • a refund, minus a £30 administration fee, or

    • conversion of the full amount into credit or a gift voucher.
      The admin fee covers processing time and studio planning already carried out.

Once a date is agreed

  • More than 14 days before your appointment: the fee can be refunded or transferred to credit, minus a £30 administration fee.

  • Within 14 days: payments are non-refundable, but I may be able to offer a credit or alternative date at my discretion.

  • Within 48 hours: payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Missed appointments without notice are non-refundable.

2. Date specific group courses and workshops

(applies to advertised courses and any future one-day events with set dates)

Group sessions require committed numbers and advance preparation.

Payment and booking

  • Payment is taken in full at checkout and confirms your place on that specific date.

Rescheduling

  • Group courses cannot be rescheduled by participants.

  • If you cannot attend, you are welcome to gift your place to someone else. Please inform me before the course starts.

Cancellation and refunds

  • More than 21 days before the course: a refund can be issued, minus a £30 administration fee.

  • Within 21 days: payments are non-refundable, as your place has been reserved and costs committed.

  • Transfers to another person are permitted at any time before the course begins.

3. Cancellations by the studio

If I need to cancel or postpone a session or course due to illness, technical issues or problems with the building, you will be offered:

  • a new date, or

  • a full refund, or

  • conversion of your payment into credit or a gift voucher

You can choose whichever option suits you.

4. Gift vouchers

  • Valid for 12 months from purchase.

  • Redeemable against individual sessions or eligible courses.

  • Can be transferred to another person.

  • Non-refundable and not exchangeable for cash.

  • If you miss a booked appointment made using a voucher, the voucher may be marked as used.

5. General terms

  • Refunds are made to the original payment method.

  • Late arrivals may shorten your session so that other appointments are not delayed.

  • All sessions take place in my studio at Sculpture Lounge unless we agree otherwise.
